Every April, the streets of Benalla burst into colour as artists from across Australia and around the world transform the town into a giant open-air gallery.
Benalla Street Art Festival began in 2015 with a bold idea: invite world-class street artists to paint monumental murals across the regional Victorian town of Benalla. What started as a community-driven experiment quickly captured international attention, putting Benalla firmly on the global street art map.
Today the festival draws thousands of visitors who come to watch the creative magic unfold live. Over three vibrant days, towering murals appear on walls across town as artists work high on scaffolds and cherry pickers, turning blank spaces into extraordinary works of art.
Beyond the murals, the festival buzzes with guided art walks, exhibitions, cinema. talks, workshops and live music, giving visitors plenty of reasons to wander, explore and soak up the atmosphere.
With more than 80 murals already scattered across town, Benalla has become one of Australia’s most exciting regional street art destinations.
